The Princess of Shanghai
This large, resin sculpture of The Princess of Shanghai with flowing hair and dress was a difficult piece to restore. The 30-inch tall and approximately 30-pound sculpture was damaged during a move. The piece needed special attention at the base because the weight of the sculpture balances from the damaged ball area.

Before
The Princess of Shanghai's dress extends about 24 inches from the body.

Her neck was broken and needed to be repaired.

She balances on the ball on her feet. The damage there made it an especially difficult piece to restore.

The inside of this sculpture had to be cemented and reinforced from the inside out.

Then the missing areas had to be rebuilt.

She then needed to be patched and sanded several times leaving a perfect, smooth finish to repaint.

The damaged ball area was restored from the inside out.
